Oct 18, 2013 Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9) Compatibility Update - AnyConnect VPN does not presently reliably operate on the OS X 10.9 Mavericks GM seed. This issue is being tracked inside Cisco under ID: CSCuh73010 and has also been escalated to Apple for their analysis. OS does not allow profile name to contain special characters so the name must be edited before saving. Please note that it is not possible to offer all AnyConnect features within the UWP framework. Please utilize the full AnyConnect application from your IT Department if additional features are needed. Download the Mac Cisco AnyConnect VPN client via the Related Downloads box to the right on this page. Run the downloaded program. Note: the version number may be different from the screenshot above. When the installation starts, double click AnyConnect to continue. Click Continue twice. Jadyr Pavao and I have the same issue. Update: It looks like AnyConnect and the nacl-development-environment plugin may have a conflict. Following Pete's recommendation, I removed the nacl-development-environment plugin, removed and reinstalled AnyConnect, and vpn is working again.
Cisco software development fails again. Nine months to prepare for Apple OS X Mavericks and the AnyConnect client doesn’t work. As one person in the support ‘discussion’ says:
Why is AnyConnect always behind? There was plenty of time for Cisco to have this prepared ahead of time. I have had issues before when OS X was upgraded. It’s unacceptable from such a large company.
Seriously, that’s why they have developer releases, so that developers can get their software ready ahead of time. What is Cisco doing during this time?
I can’t think of an excuse for this. Why does Cisco regularly fail to deliver software on time ? Why are there so many bugs in the early versions ? When compared to thousands for small developers who were well prepared for the change, Cisco looks like amateurs who didn’t know that Mavericks was about to ship.
If Cisco wants to be regarded as a “software” company then all of their software need to be excellent, not just some of it.
