Microsoft NTFS is one of the primary file systems of Windows. If you work on a Mac computer and need to read or write files from HDD, SSD or a flash drive formatted under Windows, you need Microsoft NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software. Write, edit, copy, move and delete files on Microsoft NTFS volumes from your Mac! Fast, seamless, easy to use. Paragon NTFS for Mac 15 driver is based on unique Paragon Technology - Universal File System Driver (UFSD) which was specially developed to provide full access (read/write, format, etc.) to volumes of the most popular file systems (NTFS, FAT, Ext2/3FS etc.) under various platforms (DOS, Android, Windows, Linux and Mac) when these file systems are not supported. Windows uses NTFS. Macs use APFS file systems. If you want full read/write access to NTFS drives in macOS you need to install a driver like Paragon NTFS for Mac. Ok so I have googled, read and youtubed it up for a day now and still haven't found my 100%
I have a 1TB exernal hard drive I had with me PC (vista) and it has around 400+gigs of file (music, pics, tv, movie, school papers, ebooks, pc programs, couple mac apps and so on). well how do i format the drive WITHOUT erasing it, keeping all my files. I have a 'apple only' external that would fit everything but if i copy all the files to the 'apple only' will it be f-d up from the PC files? And what to format it too because I need a PC/Mac external to go between the two, i have got different answers here too.
Does this make since to anyone? I need one external hard drive for PC/Mac use and my Mac only one (that one works perfect). I am working with a Mac Book OS X 10.5.6
I can take files off the 1TB HD but not add any, and most files coming off the 1TB are locked so too delete anything i have to get info, unlock than delete! urgh takes very long time with mass files.
Please help me. I have had the mac book now for less than a week and love it. minus this whole pc hard drive f-ing with me.

I’ve been experiencing a somewhat regular series of system crash events for the past few months. It’s taken awhile to track down the cause of these crashes but I finally found what appears to be the culprit - Paragon’s NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359. I’ve conducted several tests using two different brand 1TB external hard drives connected to two different side-by-side USB ports (which, by the way caused no problems whatsoever until my recent upgrade to Paragon NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359. One factor that I can verify without a doubt - as soon as NTFS For Mac is disabled through System Preferences, the system crashes stop. At this point I have the external hard drives connected to the USB ports with NTFS For Mac disabled and have not experienced any system crashes. Below is a copy of my latest system crash report.
It should be noted that when one or both external hard drives were connected to a USB port with NTFS For Mac enabled, system crashes occurred at intervals of 15 minutes to half an hour after each recovery from a previous crash. As you can see this made my entire system unusable.
I look forward to hearing from you once you've had an opportunity to review my current information and decide what is the best way to resolve this issue.
Unfortunately, due to a strict number of characters limited per post (here on your forum) my crash report has been significantly truncated.
